The First Zombie-Proof House

somehow, i feel, that concrete wall isnt high enough, maybe its just me.

Somehow, ritual drunk-conversation concerning team captains for the apocalypse has become a major part of the lives of 20-somethings. Having been matured in the Grandaddy-crowned masterpiece film (put “A.M. 180” on and forget that you have a job) 28 Days Later and the best-selling Zombie Survival Guide, we’re all a little too ready to deal with the 2012 of our dreams.

“The Safe House,” designed by KWK Promes, starts to get eerily close to something I could work with, if say 200 bludgeoned members of the undead army came over to eat their way into borrowing some sugar. (or your brains, lol)

“The most essential item for our clients was acquiring the feeling of maximum security,” begins the designers’ website in the summary of the structure. Who wouldn’t feel safe in a concrete rectangle that folds in upon itself to become completely sealed? Even the windows are covered with a slab of concrete when the structure is on nap time.

The house, with its movable walls, has only one entrance, which is located on the second floor after crossing a drawbridge. Seems like the perfect opportunity to use a flamethrower and defend the life of your family, while stylishly nesting in a piece of architectural elitism.

OUT TO EAT AT STEAK-N-SHAKE

i dont remember WHY we went out to eat at this time. but it was some sort of celebration.daniels included.

for whatever reason we did go out. and i took pics, lol

i thought this was a good choice until i did a nutritional value search online, found out this cup of chili has over 1K calories!!!

yes, i had it with cheese (more protein) and some onions, and water on the side.

i ALSO had this salad, grilled chicken salad with i believe some sort of western chipotle dressing.

as much as i think i can eat it all, i never can, i always end up taking  most of any meal home anymore.

daniel has aquired enough paintball stuff, he wanted to have a picture (or pictures, i should say) of his items.
this is constantly changing, as he gets and sells lower grade items for better grade items.

my sons one consistant passion has happened to be: PAINTBALL

and occasionally, because he gets a kick out of it, he lets  me hold his paintball gun and makes me...MODEL it...lol . i dont know, makes no sense to me WHY im required to do it. but it makes him happy. so i do, lol

wanted to add these because these animals are like our family, as much as any other member is. i cant imagine a life without them in it anymore.

DEAD SQUIRREL

daniel was on his way home from his bus stop just down the road one day. came in telling me about a dead squirrel he had seen on the curb.

he said it was perfect. meaning, it didnt have a "squished" look, and simply looked like it was "sleeping".

he had such  cear deatils about it, i asked him to go take pics (so i could  blog about it here for him, as a memory, an event, something really "cool")

so heres the pics:

i realize that this (to some) maybe a MORBID post to actually post about. but theres something fascinating about this dead squirrel..he looks just like daniel said. like he is simply sleeping there.
he hasnt even had any flies on him yet. this must have happened within minutes of daniel coming upon it
im guessing he was hit by a car, crawled to the curb, and died.

i also wanted to post this in case he was the squirrel we raised : ROCKY. who happened to be a  FOX SQUIRREL..he had red coloring and a red plum on the underside of his tail.

the 1st picture doesnt show a red under sde to the tail, it seems to be normal.
which gives me a degree of comfort in thinking when we let rocky go, he survived and possibly STILL survives out there somewhere in the maze of our back yards.

RIP unknown, nameless Squirrel.
