it really does feel like just yesterday they brought you to me in the hospital room and i saw you and held you for the 1st time.
weve both grown, allot in this short time weve shared together.

hope i have shown you how to be a good person, yet strong.

DANIELS 17TH BIRTHDAY

its getting harder and harder to get the kid something when half of what hed like he always gets before the holiday.

as soon as ones done (christmas OR Birthday) im on the hunt for more items to try to surprise him with for the next vent 6 months down the road,
this year he asked for, and showed us, what items hed want for clothing,

we had decided after much debate and watching the kid, that wed go ahead and get another xbox360.
this one, however would be purchased over time, for one reason, it helps to build a credit score for us, and it wouldnt cost an arm and a leg out of our pocket to do it at one time, and the kid seemed sencier about not abusing the rights he has on the system. so we took a giant leap of faith on him, and got him another new system.
he had no clue.

so, finally the day comes (july 29) for us to celebate his birthday..he was very casual about it, not really talking much, not inquiring about gifts, not asking if we were gonna do anything.
and i told him we were gonna go out to celebrate.

daniel hates the "show" of any pubic event...hates to participate, hates the fact  i take pictures..im not really sure why. (very much my mother, she wanst into all that either)
anyway, we had  decided wed go cheap someplace to do this, we hadnt bee to burger king in forever, and we decided wed got there, piled danile and the gifts (that were all in the back seat with him) in the car, and started on our journey.

when we pulled up in the parking lot of the establishment, daniel had a cow, and walked off, just left! refused to do the opening of gifts, or anything like that in any restaruant.
so, we had to take everything from the place back into the car, drive down the road and go get him, he was walking home!

when we convincd him to get in the car, i asked him what hed want to do, which i had been asking and all i got was it doesnt matter" as a response.
his answer this time was..go home and do this..
to which i told him hed have to clean up the living room because i didnt want to have a messy room in the pictures.
we got home...
he started cleaning..
as he was doing that and we were commiserating our defeat for a well meant  celebration, craigs mother calls...
and well, we sued that to our advantage.

went back in the living room, told him his grandmother had resquested we go out to eat , because she had sent us money to celerate with him on , and wanted us to make sure we took pics so she could see them and hat he got on FaceBook..

so, he had a change of heart, decided to go back to Burger King and do the celebration..

so we pile it all back into the car, wth the kid in the back seat, and...head right back out to the same place...

find a spot (no one was there, and i mean..NO ONE!) and proceeded to have the celebrations..
one by one he opened gifts:

see that smirk, its cause daniel was like "im never gonna wear this, why did you get it?" simple answer: its all they had we thought youd like for half off if we got another shirt, thats the half off shirt...appreciate!

my sons growing up, has moved primarily from his favorite band ICP (insane Clown Posse) to DubStep artist: DEADMAU5. and with that adjustment he went from the dark shirts to "anything but balck shirts" and this deadmau% shirt was the 1st of all of the rest of them that wasnt black, he didnt get 1 black shirt, or 1 ICP item this birthday.

i could have sworn with all the time he and that xbox sat in the back seat together hed have noticed it, but he didnt, i knew he didnt when i handed this over and the look of surprise swept over his face, resuting in THIS smile...
he said he didnt know it was there...ill chose to believe him.

now THATS the look of 1 happy kid.
was it so bad daniel? did it make you feel aweful? no. you got o=something you wanted, had to sacrifice a small part of yourself to make others happy.
thats part of life, welcome to 17! it just gets better from here.

6 Small Earthquakes Recorded Near Choctaw

Largest Was Magnitude 2.7, Recorded Friday Night

CHOCTAW, Okla. -- The Oklahoma Geological Survey says six small earthquakes have been recorded near Choctaw in central Oklahoma. No injuries or damage have been reported as a result of the quakes on Friday. The survey says the largest was magnitude 2.7 and was recorded at 10:45 p.m. Friday. The U.S. Geological Survey gave the quake a preliminary magnitude of 2.8. The Oklahoma agency says a 2.4 magnitude quake was recorded at 10:53 p.m. and a 2.6 magnitude quake at 10:56 p.m. The other three quakes ranged from magnitude 1.3 to 2.1. Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3 are generally the smallest felt by humans.

NEWS - BREAKTHROUGH WRITER & DIRECTOR TO TAKE ON UNIQUE 'ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE'

Breakthrough Writer And Director To Take On Unique 'Zombie Apocalypse'

Carlos Gallardo, producer of the acclaimed 'El Mariachi', 'Desperado' and 'Once Upon a Time in Mexico' trilogy, and Kevin Eastman, co-creator of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the owner of Heavy Metal Publishing, are proud to announce their involvement as executive producers on 'Zombie Apocalypse' [working title], a forthcoming movie to be directed by hot new writer/director discovery, Chee Keong Cheung. 'Zombie Apocalypse' was co-written by Mark Strange and Steve Horvath and production is estimated for a Q4 2011 start date in the UK with an expected Fall 2012 release. Casting is currently underway and further announcements are expected shortly.

Zombie Apocalypse is a unique combination of the action, zombie horror and war genres with the added element of mixed martial arts and will be produced by UK based Intense Productions. The first ever Zombie film to feature mixed martial arts, based on an original screenplay written by Chee Keong Cheung, and lined up as the first in a new trilogy, Zombie Apocalypse will be a multi platform project, which will include graphic novel and merchandise tie ins. Heavy Metal Publishing headed by Kevin Eastman will be the first to exploit the rights with the graphic novel featuring world class Heavy Metal writers and artists to coincide with the film’s intended 2012 release. The production will also team up with Heavy Metal as a promotional and merchandising partner on the picture. A computer game is also envisaged.

In Zombie Apocalypse, when zombies start to take control of the world they turn into malevolent versions of their former selves with any previous physical combat skills enhanced to almost superhuman level, making eradication near impossible. Into this seething hell a squad of eight Special Forces soldiers are assigned a suicide mission to rescue a scientist from a city ruled by the undead.

Executive Producer, Carlos Gallardo, star and producer of El Mariachi and a long-time collaborator with filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, explains his involvement: “When I read the screenplay for Zombie Apocalypse I was completely mesmerised. I found the script to be powerful, dynamic and fast paced. Chee is a great young director with a lot of talent and I believe a big career ahead of him and he reminds me of my early days and collaboration with my good friend Robert Rodriguez and I am very keen to be involved with the next generation of independent filmmakers who can deliver something new and fresh to fans and I feel with both Chee and Zombie Apocalypse we have something truly exciting and special.”

Executive Producer, Kevin Eastman describes why he’s on board: “I’m a big action and zombie fan and I'm really excited Chee asked me to be part of the film. When Chee showed me the script and told me what he wanted to do with it, I just thought it was awesome. I think what’s interesting is Chee’s taken the best elements of all the zombie films I'd ever seen and turned it on its ear by adding this element of mixed martial arts to it. I think it’s going to be new, fresh and what he’s going to do with it is exceptional. I love Chee's vision and style and honestly believe Chee is a part of the ‘next wave’ of new directors that will take the genre-based medium I thrive in to newer and greater heights! We’re really excited about launching the first promotional campaign for Zombie Apocalypse at Comic Con.”

Gaining the experience and expertise of two figures that spearheaded such iconic franchises and revolutionised their respective genres, both Kevin Eastman and Carlos Gallardo will support rising talent Chee Keong Cheung’s vision for a film showcasing the action/horror genre in a way never before seen.

We have some very exciting talent attached that we hope to announce soon and rest assured that every second of screen time is going to be dedicated to delivering what genre fans deserve. I’m also excited to confirm that Carlos Gallardo will not only act as an Executive Producer but will also be joining the cast as one of the as one of the eight Elite Special Forces Soldiers in the movie”

Rising talent, British-Chinese writer, director and producer, Chee Keong Cheung’s last picture the action/drama, Bodyguard: A New Beginning, was filmed in the UK and Hong Kong and released through Lionsgate in North America. Producing alongside Chee Keong Cheung of Intense Productions will be Mark Strange and Michael Riley of Sterling Pictures in association with fast rising UK independent production company Magic Lantern Digital Productions, headed by Mick Southworth and Martin McCabe who will both be acting as Executive Producers on the picture.

The producers are currently in advanced negotiations with two major studios and several of the bigger independents for the UK rights for Zombie Apocalypse, as well as other English speaking territories outside of the US.

Zombie Apocalypse is set to be the first in a trilogy and will also be the first of several pictures which Chee Keong Cheung, Carlos Gallardo and Kevin Eastman will collaborate together on and will all be in attendance at Comic Con at the Heavy Metal booth.

Production Of Fictional Snack Celebrates Show's 15th Anniversary

(CNN) -- Now you do not have to head to "South Park" to get a taste of Cartman's favorite snack.To celebrate Season 15 of the hit Comedy Central animated series, "South Park" has struck a deal with Frito-Lay to produce the fictional snack, the New York Times reports.Beginning next month, 1.5 million packages of Cheesy Poofs will be sold in Wal-Mart stores across the country. Bringing the snack off the screen and into real life production is part of the "Year of the Fan" promotional campaign meant to celebrate the show.According to the Times, those not willing to ante up $2.99 for a 2 3/8-ounce bag of Cheesy Poofs can get a free bag at Comic-Con this year. The snack will be part of an exhibit titled the Ultimate "South Park" Fan Experience which will include a replica of the school cafeteria from the show.

anyway, i saw this cute little bed, and thought it would be perfect for him...took him a day or 2 to get used to using it...

This right here folks, is awesome. An out of the box solution to all your dub-steppin' needs created by Ryan Challinor. If you're the musically inclined type and have been dying to try something like this out for a while, you're now invited to freely download his open source application SYNAPSE which allows you to control Ableton Live, Quartz Composer, Max/MSP, and any other application that can receive OSC events with the Kinect.

The application sends joint positions and hit events via OSC, and also sends the depth image into Quartz Composer. This allows you to use your whole body as an instrument.
